Bruno Capolongo: Contemporary Still-Life Bruno Capolongo: Contemporary Still-Life
Each painting is about peaceful, quiet equilibrium between objects and light. There is one main representational image painted realistically and a number of physically separate, abstract panels. The object-matter, (often vases) is a vehicle for the subject-matter, often in an asymmetrical arrangement, representing a quiet beauty, or "the power of silence." Every still-life displays a co-existence, a marriage, of abstraction and realism. Was on display March 15 - April 17, 2005

Laurie De Camillis: Women in BlackLaurie De Camillis: Women In Black
Her stylized paintings refer to today's fashions and to an age-old tradition of mourning clothes. They depict not only an absence of colour, but also an absence of ego, status, and sexuality. Alternatively they illustrate strength, composure and a life story told through settings and gestures. Sitters include Noreen Taylor, Anne Fotheringham, Margaret Atwood, and Belinda Stronach. Was on display March 15 - April 17, 2005
