NEW! Reggio Emilia Program

This program is based on the principals of respect, responsibility and community. The Reggio approach is known as the “Hundred Languages,” meaning a hundred different ways of thinking, discovering and learning through the use symbolic languages (art, sculpting, drama) in everyday life.

Philosophy

  • Children have some control over the direction of their learning
  • Children must be able to learn through experiences of touching, moving, listening, and observing
  • Children must have the endless ways of opportunities to express themselves
  • Through the Reggio approach the teacher is considered the co-learner with the child
  • Children will work on projects as the teacher expands the child’s learning
  • The environment is a fundamental importance and considered the ‘third teacher’
  • Natural light and indoor plants play a role in the environment
  • Kitchens are open to the rooms and inviting to the children
  • Children are involved in the planting, caring and harvesting of vegetables
  • Children are a part of the cooking experiences
  • The community and families are large part of the program. Parents and community members are involved in the activities, discussions and workshops

Camps

For over 20 years, Villa Charities’ summer camps have been offering something for every camper. With tennis, karate, art, cooking, dance, extreme sport, and Triple Threat (voice, dance, and drama) camps, among others, there is little, if anything, that we cannot provide for your child.

Our nine-week summer camps are engaging, active, and focused on giving your child a summer retreat where they can interact with others in a fun and exciting environment. Our full-day or half-day options make our camps very customizable and easily adaptable to your scheduling needs.

With 22 counsellors, six instructors for indoor camps, and over 40 volunteers from community members, Villa Charities summer camps are adequately staffed to ensure your child is safe, properly looked after, and is given adequate one-on-one time to enhance whatever skill they have come to explore.
