2008 Giro T.O. – Cycling with an Italian spin!
Get ready for more food, family fun and, of course, fundraising!
Join us on Sunday, May 25, 2008 as our dedicated “girini” ride back into town for the
3rd Annual Giro T.O. – Villa Charities’ fun-filled salute to the famous bike ride, Giro d’Italia.
Unlike its European counterpart, Giro T.O. is not a competitive race, however, the course promises to
be an entertaining and challenging ride regardless of your experience.
Starting at Columbus Centre at Dufferin and Lawrence, riders will tackle the city streets and visit Toronto’s distinctly Italian neighbourhoods along the way. This year, riders will have the option of choosing one of two routes: the full
65km course or a shorter 35km course. Both routes will take riders to Vaughan, ending at Villa Charities’ newest project, Villa Colombo Vaughan. Rest stops along the way will feature regional Italian specialties to keep riders refreshed and energized.
After the ride, all participants will be treated to a delicious barbeque on Villa Colombo Vaughan’s grounds where prizes will be awarded to the top 5 fundraisers. Riders will then have the option to be transported back to Columbus Centre via bus or return on bike.
There is a $50 registration fee for all riders. Plus, this year, Villa Charities Foundation will offer prizes at various pledge levels - so the more money you raise, the more prizes you'll receive.

Giro T.O. is a charity bike ride aimed at raising funds to help Villa Charities give more amore to the seniors who cared for us, provide more invaluable job training to young adults with intellectual disabilities and increase the cultural programming that enriches the lives of thousands annually.
