Below are some of the most often asked questions to provide a greater understanding of the admissions process.
Q: How do I know if I can go to a Long Term Care Facility?
A: Persons with medium to high activities of daily living needs (bathing, dressing, toileting etc) may be admitted to a LTC. One can also call their local Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) to find out more about eligibility requirements.
Q: How do I apply to Villa Colombo?
A: When considering application to a long term care setting, one must apply through the local Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) and NOT directly to the desired facility.
Contact the local CCAC to set up a home assessment and to obtain a complete application package. Visit http://www.oaccac.on.ca.
Q: Where do I send the application booklet?
A: All applications must be processed through the CCAC. Once reviewed by the CCAC, applications are forwarded to the facilities of your choice. Upon receiving the application, the home ensures that the applicant is eligible for services and is then placed on the waiting list at that home.
Q: What are the costs for living in a Long Term Care Facility?
A: The cost of living in a Long Term Care Facility like Villa Colombo is predetermined by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. These costs can be found in the application booklet.
