Under the guidance and mentorship of Executive Chef Gino Marchetti a new format for the reimagined and resurgent Ristorante Boccaccio is now in place. Ristorante Boccaccio embodies a synergy combing youthful exuberance, experience, education and knowledge to bring our authentic, Italian cooking to our guests.
Executive Chef Gino Marchetti was classically trained at Italy’s world-renowned Villa Santa Maria Abruzzo’s culinary school, where he sharpened his world-class culinary skills in restaurants throughout Europe and North America.
Since settling down at the Columbus Centre more than 28 years ago, he has continually updated his menu for Ristorante Boccaccio and Columbus Events Centre to highlight each season’s freshest ingredients. Marchetti also channels his Italian heritage into the restaurant’s popular theme nights, which spotlight a particular Italian region and its cuisine.

IN BOCCA Culinary and Culture Series – January 20 – May 4
Each month at Ristorante Boccaccio we present a unique culinary experience with our theme nights, based on various regions in Italy. Now, we’ve enhanced these popular events with the addition of a special cultural or lifestyle presentation. In Bocca, our culinary, culture and lifestyle series, is designed to celebrate the Italian Culinary Arts by complementing a delicious prix-fixe dinner with an engaging presentation or performance.

Enjoy an evening of culture and cuisine as Artistic Director Cristiano De Florentiis discusses contemporary Italian film and the exciting lineup for the 2017 Italian Contemporary Film Festival. A prix-fixe gourmet dinner will be served.

Cristiano De Florentiis – Bio
Cristiano is a professional journalist. For several years, he has been the Canadian correspondent for the Italian state television RAI. He has been tasked with promoting RAI broadcasts in Canada and strengthening relations with prominent organizations within the Canadian broadcasting industry. Cristiano has produced numerous documentaries, such as The Dinosaur Cemetery, Father Goose, St. Jacob, When Time Stops, The Last Cowboys, Between Europe and the New World, The Voice of Little Italy and The Italians of the Last Frontier. In 2005, Italy’s President of the Republic Carlo Azeglio Ciampi conferred upon him the title of “Knight of the Italian Republic” for his commitment to the Italian community in Canada.
