Villa Charities and Centro Scuola are pleased to announce that Centro Scuola will be relocating from the Columbus Centre to Casa Abruzzo this September. This move will allow them to offer their Italian language learning and cultural exchange programs in larger and enhanced facilities at this new location. Villa Charities continues with the multi-year project initiated in 2018 to repair and replace aging facilities and infrastructure including several significant capital investments. Based on a Property Assessment Condition Study, Villa Charities commissioned Climatech to replace aging HVAC equipment for the Columbus Centre. This will improve the heating and cooling system throughout the building. Work is currently underway, with the cooling system expected to be operational by the end of May and the heating system by August.  

Villa Charities continues with the multi-year project initiated in 2018 to repair and replace aging facilities and infrastructure and made several significant capital investments during the year. An external consultant was engaged to assess the condition of all VCI properties and identify deficiencies and replacements required over the next decade. The assessment, conducted by Stantec Consulting Ltd., identified approximately $11 million of priority work over the first three years. The Columbus Centre Athletic Club will be investing approximately $100,000 in significant improvements to the facilities, which are expected to be completed by the end of May. We have planned the following improvements to the Athletic Club, to provide a better experience for all patrons: Painting and installation of new carpets. Washroom upgrades and painting of the lockers and the surrounding areas, as well as new furniture and carpeting in the Men’s Health Club. Villa Charities engaged Stantec Consulting Ltd. (Stantec) to conduct a building condition assessment (“BCA”) of all the Villa Charities properties. The primary purpose of the BCA was to review the present condition of the properties and identify deficiencies and replacements required over the next ten years.
