TORONTO (January 15, 2019) – Toronto business owner Joseph J. Fusco has been elected Chair of the Board of Governors of Villa Colombo Homes for the Aged Inc. at its 2018 Annual General meeting. Opened in 1976, Villa Colombo Homes for the Aged Inc. (Villa Colombo Toronto), part of the Villa Charities Inc. group of organizations, prides itself on providing quality long-term residential care and community services to seniors in a culturally sensitive environment that honours the Italian heritage. Villa Colombo cares for 391 residents living in their Long-Term Care (LTC) home in addition to providing community services to over 700 clients living in the community such as Meals on Wheels, adult day programs and supportive housing.
“I am honoured to have been elected Chair of Villa Colombo Toronto,” said Mr. Fusco. “The community has been part of my life for a long time, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to guide Villa Colombo in their mission to serve the Italian community, residents and elderly clients by providing the care they need to enjoy life to the fullest with dignity and independence. I look forward to leading Villa Colombo’s exciting revitalization and meeting the province-wide directive presented by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to upgrade long-term care beds.”
Joseph J. Fusco began his professional ventures in the trucking business, then moving to the food industry. He went on to officially join the family business, Commercial Bakeries Corp., over 25 years ago. With his father and two younger brothers, he is co-owner of the private label bakery specializing in mass cookie production for clients across North America and in international markets.
Passionate about the future of culturally sensitive, high-quality long-term care and assisted living for our seniors, Mr. Fusco joined the Board of Governors of Villa Colombo Homes for the Aged Inc. in 2007.
