 Live Virtual Group Fitness Classes Now Available

The Columbus Centre Athletic Club is hosting live virtual group fitness classes. We will be offering these classes to our members and non-members while the Athletic Club is closed. Each class will be instructed by one of our certified instructors.

 

Please find below the Virtual Class schedule, with the date, time, and description of each class. A list of equipment needed in order to fully participate in each session. Please contact us at fitness@villacharities.com for information and registration.

Virtual Class Schedule 

Circuit 55+ classes are designed for people just starting a physical fitness routine, returning to a regular physical fitness routine, or rehabilitating after an injury or illness. Slow to moderately-paced exercises focusing on functional movements, fall prevention, muscle strength and aerobic endurance. Seated and standing components.

 

Equipment required: Mat, chair, hand weights (dumbbells). If dumbbells are not available, use tin cans or water bottles.

The fine toning method implies leanness in the body, noticeable muscle definition and shape, but not significant muscle size, working the smallest of muscles for the best results!

 

Equipment required: Bands (thera, mini, or resista) and a mat

This class targets all major muscle groups in the body. Each circuit includes three or four exercises that alternate between upper body and lower body as well as bilateral and unilateral for a unique quick-paced workout.

 

Equipment required: Dumbbells and a mat.

High Intensity Interval Training is a training technique in which you give all-out 100% effort through quick intense bursts of exercise followed by short, sometimes active recovery periods. HIIT gets and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time.

 

Equipment required: Dumbbells and a mat.

This allows the instructors to bring their own flavour and choice to the classes. It can be a Body Pump, Strength Circuit, Bootcamp, Yoga, BLT (Bum, Legs, and Thighs) or even a Cardio Dance class. On Friday mornings, get ready for anything, and be ready to be challenged!

Membership Fee: Unlimited Virtual classes for $24.99 + HST / month.

Open to Members and Non-Members. Day, weekend and evening classes are available. Complimentary access to our online virtual class library.

Virtual Fitness Class Library

This membership will give you access to our Virtual Class Library to participants that do not, or cannot participate in the live classes. Access to our online recorded virtual class library with over 50 classes to choose from.

Cost: 

 Membership Fee: Unlimited Virtual recorded classes for $9.50 + HST / month.

Open to Members and Non-Members.

Virtual Personal Training

Columbus Centre Athletic Club is pleased to now offer an exciting new option for Personal Training clients to allow them to continue with their sessions from the comfort of their home. Virtual Personal Training will provide an easy way for clients to stay on track and stay healthy. If you are an existing member but not a Personal Training client and are interested in Virtual Personal Training contact fitness@villacharities.com to learn more.

Cost: 

3 – One-Hour Private Sessions for $ 150.00 + HST.

2 – Thirty-Minute Private Sessions for $50.00 + HST.

Semi-Private Personal Training available upon request.

Open to Members and Non-Members.

Virtual Programs

The primary purpose of yoga is the reconditioning of the system, both body and mind, to affect the highest possible standard of physical stamina, mental health, and organic vigour. Hatha Yoga is interpreted as a method that will achieve maximum results with a minimum expenditure of energy. Maximum number of participants is 15, minimum of 10. Sessions will be in groups of 5 – 15 participants.

Quiet your mind, connect with your inner self, and listen to your body. Join our group of like-minded people in a safe, supportive environment, to start or grow your meditation practice. Be guided to connect with your inner-self to help physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. This 45-minute class is designed for those who want to improve health, energy, independence, judgment, empathy, happiness, relaxation, mindfulness and peacefulness. Sessions will be in groups of 5 – 15 participants.

Train like a soldier! Boot Camp consists of drills and exercises to give you a challenging and exciting workout. Be prepared to sweat! Sessions will be in groups of 5 – 15 participants.

Restorative Yoga is for stressful times. Let stress and tension melt away and connect with a deep sense of peace and relaxation. Restorative Yoga is a deeply relaxing practice of supported poses, guided relaxation, yogic breathing and an extended final resting pose. When stress becomes chronic, our body’s capacity to heal itself is compromised, but the antidote to stress is relaxation. This class is for any level student seeking to reduce the effects of stress. This practice cultivates a necessary balance between body and mind while dissolving physical and mental tension. The class is slow, deeply nurturing and suitable for all ages – particularly those with chronic pain or limitations. Sessions will be in groups of 5 – 15 participants.

Vinyasa Yoga (a root form of Ashtanga Yoga) is characterized by a focus on dynamic connecting posture that creates a flow between the more static traditional yoga postures. Vinyasa translates as linking and the system also implies the linking of the movement to the breath. Essentially the breath dictates the movement and the length of time held in the postures. Attention is also placed on the journey between the postures, and not just the postures themselves. In Vinyasa Yoga the postures can be arranged into different sequences that can meet the practitioner’s need or mood in a more creative flow. Sessions will be in groups of 5 – 15 participants.

4 classes for $50.00 + HST – 1 session per week. Open to Members and Non-Members.
