Virtual Tribute Wall

The staff at our affiliate Long-Term Care Homes – Villa Colombo Toronto and Villa Colombo Vaughan, are going above and beyond the call of duty to care for and protect the most vulnerable citizens in our community, our seniors. To shine a light on the extraordinary efforts and unwavering commitment of these front line health care workers and support staff battling the COVID-19 pandemic, Villa Charities has launched a virtual tribute wall that will display the messages of gratitude we have received from family members and others in the community. If you’d like to send a message of support for either long-term care home to be included on our virtual wall, please email info@villacharities.com or post a message on our Facebook, Twitter or  Instagram page.

“It is very fitting that we acknowledge the great work being done by the staff at Villa Colombo.  My experience is with the Toronto location. They have been ahead of the curve and succeeded in delaying the inevitable intrusion of the Corona virus into the presence of our loved ones.  At a time when we cannot be there to care for and comfort our family members, it is reassuring to know we have such dedicated, caring and professional staff there on our behalf.  We pray that all remain safe and healthy.”

“To all the staff at VC Toronto. A heartfelt thank you on going above and beyond the call of duty during these unprecedented times. Thank you for taking care of our brother and everyone else including yourselves and your families. A special thank you to Barbara and the entire staff on the 4th Floor Fidani. Please stay healthy and safe.”

“Although each and every member of the team deserves my heartfelt thanks, I would like to directly say Thank You to the staff, and all members of the team caring for my aunt, Angela Delgreco and my cousin, Teresa Delgreco. In the best of times, it is so challenging to provide care to the elderly, and to those affected by dementia and mental health issues. Today, this must be extremely stressful for you. I know the virus has affected staff and residents, and that is not surprising. We can only hope and pray that all safety measures continue to be enforced.  We pray for your health, as our front line workers, as our administrators and as our eyes and ears to hear how our family members are doing. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

“Way before this outbreak started I was grateful for the nursing and support staff at Villa.  I knew and saw the amount of work they put in everyday in supporting our parents and grandparents and felt embarrassed that I couldn’t help my parents the same way. I was and am in aw! I’m amazed at their physical and mental strength in dealing with senior citizens that are not able to help themselves. I’m amazed that they get up every morning and come to work at such a scary time in our lives and put themselves in the front line for our families. Everyday I worry about our dedicated staff and family members at Villa Colombo Toronto and every day I keep them in my prayers hoping that this will all be over and we can be together again.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

“The staff at Villa Colombo are doing a wonderful job. They put the residents first. God bless them and hope they continue to stay healthy.”

“The staff of Villa Colombo is very special. I am so grateful to each and every member for their steadfast commitment to the professional care of our vulnerable loved ones. We have placed our trust in the VC staff and that trust is well-founded, especially during this unprecedented pandemic, when it takes great courage and faith to go to work each day and provide the same optimal level of care. Thank you for being there for my mother.”

“This is a little note to thank everyone at Villa Colombo Toronto…to all the healthcare workers & staff, you are our heroes!  I and my family thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  You risk your own lives to look after our loved ones and even though a very stressful time for us, not to be able to see & touch our loved ones, we know that we have the best to take care of them for us. Again, thank you so much & stay safe, stay healthy. Hope to see our mom and everyone there soon!”

“I know that my father is being cared for by the best staff in the city. We worry daily for the health of everyone inside the building, all those at every level of who care for residents and fellow workers, and maintain the facility. The staff have been heroes, long before this crisis, in every single thing they do, from songs and crafts to temperature checks and diaper changes, from floor mopping and roof repairs to food pureeing and dishwashing, from dressing and bathing to tucking residents in at night—they are always our heroes. They are my father’s extended family, and ours. We love you all. We miss you all, and we look forward to the day we can see each other in person again.”
