Join us for this new workshop with a contemporary approach to the traditional practice of hand-painted textiles and create original and beautiful hand-painted works of art like pillows, scarves, drapery and more.
Participants will learn basic hand-painting techniques, how to choose appropriate natural fiber textiles (like silk, cotton, and linen), and how to work with high-quality permanent fabric paint.

This 11-week painting workshop, led by professional artist and multi-award recipient Sam Paonessa, is for students who have a passion for painting and wish to further develop their skills. A variety of subject matter will be explored including urban and abstract landscapes, wildlife and still life.

Instructor: Sam Paonessa is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD). Sam began his long and fulfilling career at Hallmark Canada, creating paintings and artwork for a variety of products. He is a founding member of Plein Air Canada and a member of the Ontario Society of Artists. Sam has been teaching at the Columbus Centre since 2010.
