Personal Training Programs

Whether you’re looking to lose weight, add muscle, or improve your all round health, our one-on-one personal training sessions are perfect for you. Our one-on-one sessions are designed to:

Want a one-on-one session with one of our Personal Trainers but don’t want to train in the main gym? The Columbus Centre Athletic Club offers semi-private personal training sessions in one of our many studios. You’ll receive the same dedicated service as the main gym sessions but in a more private setting.

Columbus Centre Athletic Club is pleased to offer Virtual Personal Training to clients to allow them to continue with their sessions from the comfort of their home. Virtual Personal Training will provide an easy way for clients to stay on track and stay healthy.

Small Group Personal Training

The Small Group Personal Training program is a great opportunity for Members to benefit from the energy and camaraderie of group fitness with the individualization and the attention of a Personal Trainer, at a fraction of the cost.

 

Sessions are designed to provide motivation and accountability, ensuring consistency in reaching your fitness goals. Our Personal Trainers specialize in providing results for those who are looking to build muscle, gain strength, improve endurance, and boost fat loss.

We are now also offering Small Group Personal Training specialty multi-week clinics that are customized for specific fitness interests and goals. There is a maximum of only four Members per class, and we offer many training options including cardio, strengthen and endurance, weight training, seniors’ mobility, and golf and tennis clinics.

Beginner’s Endurance and Strength

This new beginner endurance and strength Small Group Personal Training clinic will improve your confidence and strength. The benefits of endurance training will improve your heart, lungs, and circulatory systems while increasing muscle strength and endurance.

Cardio and Core

Personal Trainer: Juliana R.

A 6-week program following progressive overload to improve cardiovascular health by combining intervals as well as longer work-to-rest periods. This clinic is perfect for those who are looking to improve their cardio but are bored with treadmill workouts and the traditional cardio machines. Juliana will help you improve your stamina and burn more calories during these intense but fun workouts. Each session ends with core work to help strengthen your core region.

Circuit and Stage Training

Personal Trainer: Kostas B.

In this clinic you’ll be working various muscle groups intensively by repeating an exercise multiple times before moving on to the next. There are normal circuits and timed station circuits that cater to levels 1-5. Choose your level based on your health goals.

Level 1 Flexibility/Mobility using Tubing

Simplistic exercises and isometric holds and stretches will help improve joint mobility. Ideal for all fitness levels.

Level 2 Body/Weight and Tubing Strength/Endurance

Basic upper/lower body weight exercises without equipment to help improve overall strength and endurance. Ideal for all fitness levels.

Level 3 Toning/Sculpt or Strength/Endurance Training

Basic weight/resistance training using barbells/dumbbells/machines in a slow, controlled manner. Ideal for all fitness levels.

Level 4 HIIT/Plyometric Training

High Intensity Interval Training using short periods of explosive cardio exercise with recovery. Ideal for Members at a moderate to advanced fitness level.

Level 5 Sport-Specific Performance Training

Incorporating levels 1 to 4, this clinic focuses on sports movement skills and drills. Ideal for Members with performance/sport training experience.

Mobility Training for Seniors

Personal Trainer: Grace B.

In this 6-week mobility program, seniors 55+ will feel confident, stronger, and more flexible. In this program we will work on full-body mobility with drills to incorporate into your everyday life. Using the mind-body connection you will learn values and exercises that will help you be stronger, vibrant and improve your overall health.

Morning Mobility

Personal Trainer: Juliana R.

Mobility increases your range of motion and can have many positive effects on mental health and mind-body connection. This 6-week movement mobility program is focused on improving the way you move via controlling range of motion in joints, while challenging balance, strength and coordination simultaneously.

The ability to move freely within your body not only helps you to feel your best but can reduce injuries, increase overall performance, and improve the quality of movement in your daily life. Get ready to challenge your body by exploring new movements and working to increase mobility each week!

Strength and Conditioning

Personal Trainer: Juliana R.

A 6-week program following progressive overload to improve strength, build muscle and improve cardiovascular health. We will use a combination of resistance and cardiorespiratory training. This will include compound lifts using body weight and a combination of equipment.

General Information & FAQs

As part of your personal training session, your dedicated Personal Trainer will conduct a ‘goal-setting interview’ with you to provide you with the best possible experience. The goal-setting interview will allow your Personal Trainer to understand what you want to gain from Personal Training and create a personalized plan just for you to ensure you achieve your goals.

Personal training is specific to the individual and the individual’s goals and needs. Your Personal Trainer will:

  • Assess your needs – as part of the initial process, your Personal Trainer will conduct a goal-setting interview where they will get to know you and your goals.
  • Build your plan – once your goals have been defined, your Personal Trainer will build a plan unique to you.
  • Ongoing support – once your plan is in place, your Personal Trainer will provide ongoing support to give you everything you need to achieve your goals
  • Answers to myths and misconceptions about fitness and training.
  • A “baseline” of your current condition, to compare to your ongoing progress.
  • Honest, specific and personalized information on your current health and fitness status and how to best go about changing it for the better.
  • The help of a true fitness pro in determining the plan of action to help you achieve your goals.
  • Motivation by the latest research and information on effective exercise strategies.
  • An opportunity to begin your fitness and health journey from a position of knowledge.
  • When is the best time of day to work out?
  • What is the best form of activity for fat loss?
